From An Old Newspaper Clipping

Dear Readers: I received this
in the mail from Father Theodore M. Hesburgh, president of the University of Notre Dame,
and I want to share it with you. It was written by the late Sam Levenson. He
called it "An Answer to an Anti-Semite."
"It's a free world.
You don’t have to like Jews, but if you don’t, I suggest that you boycott
certain Jewish products like insulin, discovered by Dr. Minkoski; the vaccine for
hepatitis, discovered by Baruch Blumberg; chlorhydrate for convulsions, discovered by Dr.
J. Von Liebig; the Wassermann test for syphilis; streptomycin, discovered by Dr. Selman
Abraham Waxman; the polio pill by Dr. Albert Sabin; and the polio vaccine by Dr. Jonas
Salk."
"Good! Boycott! But humanitarianism
requires that my people offer all these gifts to all the people of the world.
Fanaticism requires that all bigots accept diabetes, hepatitis, convulsions, syphilis,
infectious diseases and infantile paralysis."

There are lots of reasons for us Jews to be proud of our heritage
and our contribution to mankind.

Letter of Pride: (July 1999)
I'm from Hungary, I'm Jewish and I'm proud of it.
Even though there a lot of fascists, even in the Parliament.
We know what caring for each other really means. We
have to face the skinheads almost every day, when we walk on the
streets everybody looks with strange eyes, but we can feel the
security because we know that we have a strong community that
protects us. WE PROTECT EACH OTHER! In the synagogues I
can feel the warm atmosphere.
WE'RE
ALL IN THE SAME FAMILY, GOT THE SAME RELIGION, SAME RITUALS, SAME
LANGUAGE, SAME GOD, SAME FEARS.

General Washington's financial advisor and assistant was a Jewish
man by the name of Hyam Salomon. During the cold winter months
at Valley Forge when American soldiers were freezing and running
out of food, it was Hyam who marshaled all the Jews in America
and Europe to provide money in relief aid to these stranded
American troops and turned the course of history. Without this
help, Washington's Continental Army, and the fate of the American
Colonies would have perished before they could have defeated
the British.
If you take a one dollar bill
out of your pocket and look at the back at the Eagle, the stars
above the Eagle's head are in the six point Star of David to
honor Jews. If you turn the Eagle upside down you will see a
configuration in the likeness of a Menorah....both at the insistence
of George Washington who said we should never forget the Jewish
people and what they have done in the interest of America. Kind
of nice to know about, don't you think? This is the seal of
the United States of America.
